PERT
The Eureka! Physical Evidence Recovery Team (PERT) was founded in 1993 to assist
various law enforcement agencies in Colorado, frequently in ongoing investigations.
Team members assist in searching areas specified by the agency in charge and in the
recovery of items as requested, closely adhering to rules relating to chain of
possession. The members of this team must be aware of the importance of the evidence
they encounter, as well as, when requested, the confidential nature of their
discoveries. Often, the absence of targets is as important as their presence, and
this team may be called upon to eliminate areas under investigation. The agency in
charge will determine the size of the team needed and the specific skills, such as
water hunting, that would be required.
